- One CSV; each row is a simple product or a variant
- Comma, semicolon or tab delimiter; UTF-8, UTF-8 BOM, UTF-16LE BOM
- Title, plain-text description, vendor, type, tags, SKU, price, compare-at price, barcode
- Up to 3 option columns (e.g. Color, Size); up to 5 product image URL columns; optional variant image
- Explicit parent/product ID column for variant grouping
- Up to 10 MiB, 5,000 rows, 80 columns; all products created as draft
Not supported
- XLSX/XLS, multiple sheets, archives, embedded images
- Inventory, locations, weight/shipping, metafields, tax/category, Google/Markets columns
- Updating existing products or stock; store migration; handle checks against your store
- HTML descriptions from the source (plain text is converted safely)
- Remote fetching of image URLs, custom formulas, AI mapping, accounts or subscriptions

Rules we apply
- Price is required per row, must be ≥ 0 with at most 2 decimals; the decimal separator is set by you and never guessed. Currency symbols and thousands separators are reported, not stripped. Zero prices need confirmation.
- Compare-at price must be greater than price. Duplicate SKUs are warned and need acknowledgement.
- Variants: option combinations must be unique inside a parent; product-level fields (title, vendor, description, type, tags) must match inside a group. Conflicts are reported by row, never merged silently.
- SKU and barcode stay text — leading zeros are preserved.
- Handles are deterministic:
cp-<slug>-<hash>. We do not check handles that already exist in your store; never enable overwrite when importing. - Cells starting with
=,+,-,@are rejected as possible spreadsheet formulas unless you choose to prefix them with an apostrophe. - Image URLs must be absolute https:// URLs. We never download them; the report marks them
not_checked. - Descriptions are imported as escaped plain text with paragraphs and line breaks — never as raw HTML.
- Nothing is dropped silently: blank, short and extra-column rows are listed in the report.
Rule pages: invalid header, duplicate option combination, invalid price.
Privacy and retention
- Your file is stored privately and processed on our server only. It is never published, shared, or used for AI training.
- Unpaid files are deleted 24 hours after your last activity (48 hours at most). Paid downloads stay available for 7 days after payment.
- You can delete a job at any time from the review or order page.
- No accounts, no email gate, no marketing cookies, no third-party analytics.

FAQ
Does this update products already in my store?
No. CatalogPatch creates new draft products only. Updating existing products, stock or migrating a store is out of scope.
What if my file has XLSX or several sheets?
Export one sheet as CSV (UTF-8) from your spreadsheet app and upload that CSV.
How are variants grouped?
You pick an explicit parent/product ID column. Rows with the same ID become one product; identical titles without a shared ID are not merged.
Is the output guaranteed to import?
No tool can guarantee that. We validate the whole file against Shopify's product CSV rules we implement and show you the report before you pay. Always import as draft, check the sample first, and verify in your store.
Can I change the mapping after paying?
The $12 purchase covers one complete file for the mapping you reviewed. A different mapping or a different source file is a new job. If the file has a technical defect, contact support within 7 days — we fix it or refund.
Do I need an account?
No. A guest session in your browser keeps your job for 7 days. When you buy, you get a recovery code to download again from any browser.
